Best exit ops from FDD? Currently trying to get out of consulting. Ultimate goal would be to get into a PE shop, but realistically I know the chances are very slim. Anyone have advice for landing something else that is finance driven (I.e. Corp dev, strategic finance, etc)?

So I’ve been with a court for a while and honestly the pay sucks compared to what paralegals should be making… the benefits are great though and they match my retirement 100% now that I’m vested at 3 years.I have 4 kids and 1 is getting ready for college. I feel like the benefits are great but I’d rather make more now. I am a previous LEO for 4 years who switched to paralegal so I have my leo retirement. Paralegals here make $28 with no benefits what is a good compromise

I was just talking to a younger friend who goes to Cal and It seems like the kids these days hate FAANG or at least Amazon and Facebook are not desired at all. I personally don’t see too many issues working at either Amazon or Facebook because I work at Deloitte where I’m sure we have many questionable clients and worked in financial services before. I have accepted an offer for the role of Director of Data Science & Analytics and I'll be working with old colleagues. I am very excited. I haven't given notice yet because I am waiting for the background check to complete, but my boss just asked me about traveling to a meeting in November. I start at the new job Oct 25. I'm really struggling for how to respond. If I were not leaving it is absolutely a meeting I should be at. I don't want to respond with a lie. Any dvice on how to respond?
