Planning to accept another job soon but have a scheduled 1 week vacation starting next week. When should I put in 2 weeks notice that I’m leaving? Is it a risk that they withdraw approval of my long-approved PTO? New job wants me to start ASAP so I’d feel bad delaying start dat over a month if the solution is to wait until after vacation to give 2weeks notice
Any moms at kpmg take maternity leave around the time when a salary increase should be taking place (e.g. start your leave mid-september when comp increases is expect in October)? Is it worth pushing off those 4 STD weeks before the due date to get yourself the new salary before going on leave? Any other ways to get the higher salary while on leave? Does it take effect if youre using pto and not the parental leave (maybe save your primary parental leave for a day later or something)?
If you can't function due to a heavy depression cloud or anxiety attack, do you say you are taking some time off bc you're not feeling well or "under the weather "? That is the phrase of choice at my office for any sick time, but ppl usually ask what it is. I don't want to disclose but I don't want to seem lazy.
Has anyone in partner ranks been able to take an actual, fully disconnected vacation of at least a full work week in the last 18 months? Genuinely curious.
Advice on how to make first Tumi purchase? Full-set? Discount retailers (Nordstrom rack, etc.)? Holiday sales? I assume PwC doesn't have a corporate discount, so any help is appreciated!
At your firm what’s the denominator on utilization? 2080? Or is it calculated after provided PTO, sick days, holidays, etc. (e.g. at 9 weeks of PTO/sick/holidays, would be 1720)?
Do you guys sometimes think you’re not living life right? Like you’re some type of robot. I think the 40 hour work week + PTO constraints is a bit much.
What is a standard amount personal paid of time off in consulting (excluding national holidays)? Asking in days per year. Current offer is for 10 but that’s less than my old firm. However this is my first job switch so I’m not sure what’s considered average.
Everyone and their mama has been raving about air fryers. They said it's a healthier alternative to deep frying. Any recommendations? I want one for my holiday meals. I am currently looking at this one on Macys. https://www.macys.com/shop/product/crux-6.3-quart-digital-touchscreen-electric-air-fryer-created-for-macys?ID=11304871&pla_country=US&CAGPSPN=pla&cm_mmc=Google_SH_PLA_Cookware-_-GS_Cookware_PLA_Crux-_-293719126716-_-pg1050674350_m_kclickid__kenshoo_clickid__KID_EMPTY_1546922786_61770717587_293719126716_aud-37409341359
EY - ladies, what to wear to the holiday party?!
Pwc - new joiner, how do we do vacation this week? I got the email but 2 days of vacation Monday and Tuesday is that the same as floating holiday? Or so I use a different WBS for floating holiday?
If someone in your family passes away and you need to take the day off to travel to the funeral, do you just take a PTO day or is there a specific WBS?
My grandpa is very close to passing away and I’m starting to feel intense grief. For those who have lost someone, how did you approach work? Did you take additional time off?
I left my BigLaw job earlier this year to take some time off and/or retire early. I now have an offer from an old colleague, now at a boutique, to write briefs on a contracting basis. We haven’t discussed pay yet—what would be a reasonable hourly rate to ask for?
I'm feeling burnt out, and my health is really deteriorating. I've already took off for doctor's appointments. This project is through end of year and i feel like im personally suffering. I want to take more time off but i just feel like its critical I stay engaged.
Let’s say youre going on an annual/semi-annual international vacation trip. What is your average budget including all expenses for one person / traveling solo? For 2 weeks. I usually budget $3k.
When you don't have an Uber receipt to show when you left the corporate holiday party because you walked home...and you have no idea what time you got home.
Hi All, could someone tell me what the M3 / M4 / M5 (if there's one) compensation (broken down by salary and bonus) is for EY's Strategy & Ops (formerly OTS) practice? Is growth there still robust?
I know this is a story that repeats in this bowl but I’ve finally reached my end with this industry. While the pay is great, I’ve grown to dread work. I understand that client side isn’t utopia but where else does a “seasoned” ad person end up?

Anytime I get approached for a role and my Manager says that it’ll be “Quick”, “Hard”, and “Fast” I get super anxious and my heart beat spikes a bit. I think it’s major Imposter Syndrome.😩
Do yall keep the timer running when on standby? (I.e. not exactly drafting but waiting for emails or dig pages to come in on closing day)
Really wanna try secondment/global mobility program, but really want to quit PwC as well... do other big 4 do global mobility program too?
For those, who are immigrants, what made you stay in New York? Would be especially interested to hear from those who didn’t come for economical reasons. I am told the excitement about the city wears off 😅 I am European, just came 2 years ago and am still loving it, but also start to wonder if staying in a job I don’t like it’s all worth it (I am on L1 visa, so no way to find a new job). Life in Europe isn’t too bad either.
Can you expense mileage when you take public transportation (costs the same as commuting to office) to client’s site?
Anyone got a six figure base as an AE? Hunting around for companies with 6-fig base and similar commission. Seems to be mostly field / enterprise pay.
Is "senior associate" a real promotion or just a hold over to get you to stay longer? Do you get a pay raise with it?
Is it normal for PwC to downgrade you from a sr position you applied on their job portal to a experienced associate? I was told I will be fast tracked and the offer they gave me is on par with the base salary of a SA. Seems like I can’t negotiate the position.
Got the phone call promoted to Manager.....assurance PwC, currently interviewing as I've basically been in busy season for the last 6 months. Completely burnt out and ready for change.
Great vibes with girl after 2nd date, definite potential for more. However, noticed that she adjusted her age by either 1 or 3 years on dating app, and just confronted her about it. She wrote it off due to Covid year, but I find the lack of honesty and real remorse concerning. What would you do?
Looking to find a role within private equity for real estate acquisitions for multifamily. Anyone know of any roles or good firms to look into. Any people to connect with would definitely be very helpful too. Please feel free to DM me as well. All help is very appreciated!
I interviewed for an internship at an agency I wasn’t super excited about, but wanted to get some interview practice in. When I met the ACD who interviewed me, we really hit it off and it made me (..)
