Any actuaries on here that work or previously worked at EY at a manager level? I'm considering a pension role in PAS, but pay data is limited on glassdoor. Does 150 base as an ASA sound like a realistic ask?

I’m currently a manager, but in the actuarial practice. For some reason pension is in a different practice at EY, so can’t really speak to the comp structure. The actuarial practice won’t promote to manager without FSA, so considering ASA, 150 would seem about right if comp is similar to the actuarial practice if not in a HCOL area.

like

On the pension side that isn't true. Plenty of managers with only ASA. My understanding is typically managers start out around 120k, but I know during this latest round we brought in some experienced seniors without ASA for greater than that. So I would think 150k is probably a tad high but not unreasonable.

Do you all see a compelling future in your tax career? I’ll go first, I don’t see a compelling future working for a large PA firm in the long run because you have to work more as you move up. However, I do see a compelling future by using my knowledge and skills to open my own firm/business and work less hours as long as I make enough money which is $75k, or if I do work long hours, it’s because I want to.

I just got a new job offer (3.5 YOE, strategy at late stage startup) for $125,000, sweet benefits, and $60k stock options.

I already notice that I want more despite not even receiving one paycheck. Previously made $85k.

Why am I like this?

I have observed that people on testing domain or frontend are getting better pay than other new tech domains like blockchain, cyber security, data sci etc(4-11yr exp) .
For less than 4 years experience new tech job gettig good pay but others getting very less.

In dev job Java, spring r etc getting better pay. Also some SAP consultant are also get paid high.
Is exp people in testing/frontend dev are less due to which they getting better pay than others with experience.
