I love using Flipgrid to encourage students to record videos of themselves and their world! I’ve used it for discussion topics to even story retells or presentations. It’s a really valuable tool for me.
I also recommended Duolingo for my fast finishers or during our “daily independent goal work time” (10 mins each class to do something enriching in French , or make up a quiz, etc.)
I recommend DuoLingo. It’s a free app and website. I just have students create an account and work on it sometimes during class. It’s not aligned with my curriculum, but I like that. It allows students to work outside of class for those that like to go above and beyond. I also push students to get out of their comfort zones, which this does (in a gameified way). There is a way for teachers to set up classes in DuoLingo, but I haven’t tried it.
I also recommend Quizlet, which is an app and a website. You can do it for free, but I get the teacher subscription ($35/year). That way I can set up classes and have students enroll. It is basically games with flash cards (good vocabulary practice) that can be individual or small group. You can create tests with it, but I just use it for basic vocabulary practice .
I love Edpuzzle. It allows you to embed questions into videos!
Edpuzzle. I find a YouTube video in French and ask questions. Then I get to see how well they understand it
I love Quizizz, in addition to everything that's been mentioned. It allows you to create a quiz style game that students can play independently, or you can play it together (my students don't love that though). I also use Piccollage for presentational writing and speaking. The students love Kahoot also.
I also like gimkit. My students often request it. Free trial.
I use Blooket.
I second Flipgrid. It’s awesome. There’s a lot you can do. Google Classroom has been great as I’m learning more and more about technology and how to use it.
Nearpod is awesome. I’m considering paying full price for the year next year.
NearPod or Jamboard! An interactive way to have presentations!
