$1k isn’t a lot if you buy real gold which I recommend you get real gold like 18k. Maybe a ring with a nice diamond design (not like an engagement) but like stackable designs you can gift her other designs on different occasions and she can stack them.
Need more direction. What kind of jewelry does she like - labels, high value, recognizable/coveted, statement, understated… ?
