Any mamas can tell me how they navigated pregnancy brain throughout work during third trimester? What is return to work like? Does mama brain still affect work after going back or do we go back to functioning “normal”?

I felt it after coming back, I literally think I had some level of brain damage from the sleep deprivation. So you figure out ways to adapt—way more trackers, lists and reminders. And it gets better over time.

Short term disability -- this is the way. It's probably 100% paid by your firm. The least known benefit but incredibly helpful and saved me during my third tri.

What condition did you have? Or was your doctor willing to certify based on your description of hardship for 3rd tri?

Yes, and it doesn’t just go away after giving birth, probably because of the sleep deprivation. Sometimes it feels like I forgot how to read 🤷🏻‍♀️. Be kind to yourself, pregnancy is hard, being a mom is also hard, and our jobs are hard. People who don’t have kids struggle in it all of the time. Adjust your standards and give yourself some grace.

I second this. I will forget things and it's largely because of sleep deprivation. I've come up with small tricks to help me remember and stay on track.

I write everything now! That has been a game changer such that in my reviews my partners thought I was so organized and up to date on things. Mind you I struggled throughout the year and those lists were the most helpful.

That brain fog never goes away. You will have to work harder to function at the same or similar brain capacity - due to being a parent and lack of sleep and also just post partum life.

I worked from home my third trimester bc I had complications and was essentially on bedrest. I took 12 weeks leave. After I came back the brain fog was definitely real but I managed. The good news is that after about a year I pretty much felt back to normal

I kind of feel that the HR I am talking with isn't that approachable. Is this kind of a norm. In VOIS. I am little hesitant to proceed with accepting the job offer from VOIS due to this.

Is this usually the norm in VOIS, where HR are quiet like this

Random, but valid/persistent thought.

After 2 years of a pandemic and working independently for many years, I am not feeling interviews AT ALL. There are points in the interview where I want to just say "Look! Either hire me or don't".

How can I get over this feeling? I'm over the whole "stand in the line of fire to prove how good I am" bs. Any recommendations for getting over this or possible industries to pivot into to avoid bs interview processes and ghosting?
