Any one familiar with Forrester Research - do they conduct pre-employment drug tests, specifically for THC given the lack of consistency regarding legality?

I don't know about them specifically, but as a general rule it's not wise to think too much about legality in terms of state laws. A lot of companies will take the position that because they have federal contracts they'll adhere to federal laws and drug designations first and foremost. Now, that may be just a way to avoid the issue, but that's a situation to be aware of. It's usually best to assume that drug tests for THC could be on the table.

They do. I had to do hair test which shows for a long period of time.

I highly doubt this a real answer. Hair tests are more expensive than urine analysis and even people on probation or getting strict government jobs are not subject to hair tests in 95% of cases. Let alone a private consulting firm...

Actually, we test to make sure you’re on drugs. Get with the times son

I’m not designated a senior associate, but my small firm (boss, myself, and a paralegal) is hiring a recent grad. Still needs to pass the hazing ritual (aka bar exam). I will be supervising the new hire. Should I get them a welcome aboard gift or wait for exam results and get a welcome to the club gift? Or both? Ideas for either or both?
