Instructional Coaching

How do you keep teachers engaged in learning and improving teacher practice at the end of the school year? I find this time of the year to be the slowest and my least favorite, as a coach.

I’m all about the reflective piece and I take this time to go and enjoy watching teachers teach. I really also use the time to connect with kids because that’s the part of the puzzle that many seem to forget about when they become coaches

I also try to spend more time in the classes. Sometimes I ask teachers if I can co-teach with them when I pop in. I practice asking higher order questions, good group discussions, problem solving, etc. I find teachers get excited to try new things because the year is wrapping up and the pressure is off

Finding ways to encourage teachers near the end of the year is a powerful motivator 😊

If anyone wants to join a boutique HR & Talent Advisory consulting firm, Kincentric is hiring for an Associate Partner role! Location doesn’t really matter, but preferably in IL, NY, or ATL.
