Anyone actually living a soft life? I’m so over the grind. Need some inspiration.

I am consistently trying every day. It looks like setting boundaries, putting my bills on autopay so I’m less stressed, doing my best work at times of the day when I can focus well. Prioritizing my mental and physical health and buying myself nice things and beautiful flowers weekly.

I love everything about this response!

Kind of? I work from home but it's been slow this month. So I've spent more time doing what I want to do during the day. Which includes reading books, exercising, cleaning my condo, taking online classes.

Love that! I work from home too but I’m always in a meeting and have constant deadlines. 😓

I’m not living one completely but I think with boundaries and future planning + hyper intentional living it is possible

Remote has done wonders! The client side is working wonders. Everyone’s on chill mode. 90 percent are remote. Pilates twice a week etc.

Take time to determine what a soft life would look like for you, and implement as many of those changes as soon as you can! As an older professional, I did not take time to even imagine that life when I was younger. BUT NOW? I do as much as I can for me as often as I can and prioritize my peace and health first! Good luck!

Thank you so much for this! ❤️

Is it just me or are there entirely too many people in Business Services, specifically TC’s, who are just folks from client service that don’t want to deal with hours and travel anymore but have no formal training in the Business Services function they transition to? It seems to me very few TC’s are professionals in HR with any background, training or certifications in HR.

Also posted over in tech bowl. Looking for advice on whether pursue a CS degree. I’m an older guy shifting to SWE. I finished bootcamp last May & about to start my first jr role at Oracle OCI. Late 30’s with a couple of kids. Is it worth it for me to seek a CS degree at this time/soonish? I’m not afraid of the extra work, and would go part time. Wondering if the eventual payoff would worth the effort. Will I level up quicker? Employer has partial tuition reimb.

Google forms make for great exit tickets. Of course this only works if your students all have a device. Hard copy exit tickets can become unmanageable, depending on class sizes and frequency.
