How is the market doing in tech? Are layoffs easing up? I just got an offer at a Series A tech company that I seriously want to consider, but I’m afraid of the possibility of a layoff.

Is Visa expected to have any layoffs due to the recession? Asking b/c I have a small workload.

An agency I used to work at had another round of layoffs today bringing the total number of people who have lost their job to nearly 40. They then went on to post across social media today about the One Show awards they won. The lack of humanity in this industry is disgusting.

I have been laid off by my current company but they kept me on payroll till 8th Sept. I have applied and given interviews to many companies but they have been very slow. How do you not take a layoff due to RIF (involuntary reduction) personally? I was told it is not personal. All full time positions except 1 were let go. Contractors on the team still exist and so does the team. I can’t help but wonder whether performance was a factor and it makes me really sad even after a few months! Any examples of how laying off full time employees over contractors helps with cost cutting? Thanks!

The severance package at Meta for laid off employees almost makes it nice to be laid off depending on what your personal situation is….. personally wouldn’t mind getting 4+ months of full pay to reset and think about what’s next 😬

I love working at the bookstore and I'm proud to work with such a large group of people from different backgrounds. I'm really happy we're all here. But it probably isn't the best idea to get someone to reshelve books when they haven't been taught how to categorize them properly. It's like I spend most of the day following one of my coworkers around and discreetly fixing what he works on. He's a great guy, very personable, but wow is it frustrating.
