A lot of….? I wasn’t aware that it’s massive but partners not pulling their weight are being asked to leave or early retire. I think all Big 4 firms are going through this because the old compensation structure based on tenure isn’t working.
Massive? There have been some adjustments in a few practices that weren't meeting numbers, at least in the US, and some additional partners were 'encouraged' to retire. I don't see the rightsizing here as any bigger than the other Big Four firms.
Maybe it’s just the liberal media but this appears to be “massive” https://www.accountancyage.com/2025/03/19/ey-axes-30-partners-in-biggest-executive-purge-in-decades/?amp=1
There have been several articles about cuts in the UK and they bury ‘UK’ as a click bait strategy. The US “cuts” are small and targeted reductions that are performance based. This is always sensitive, but if we did small adjustments every year based on trailing performance, we would avoid bigger, noisier adjustments.
