The real geniuses are the people who figured out people are finally stupid enough to watch one big long commercial.
I miss ‘The Pitch’ - it only survived two seasons (back in 2012-2013) but it followed actual creative teams/firms as they went through creative pitch of winning a client/account. The process included client engagement and the actual real world of agencies competing for the same account. It was good.
The Big Idea with Donny Deutch was the best
I wish the show included actual advertising creatives—not just everyday people and some content creators—and showed a bit more of the process: the concepts, the brainstorms, the collaboration with designers/art directors. Would be great to have a Tim Gunn–type creative director guiding and pushing the ideas further.
Like someone else mentioned, The Pitch felt a little more ‘on-brand’ for what we do. But hey, it’s a Jimmy Fallon network show—what can you do? At the end of the day, anything that puts our industry in the spotlight is a win.
The whole thing is a big commercial
Chief
I’m sure they didn’t get to be on it for free.
Are the contestants on it work in marketing : advertising. It would have been cool to see our peers on it
Yes, the girl from tik tock
Oh they paid a hefty appearance fee for sure. Likely rolled into an upfront.
Oh I assume as much, but it’s a lot of exposure for a new offering. Worth it
Right, I’m sure millions of Americans are tuning in week after week making it an extremely effective use of company funds!
Now people want to get into advertising / marketing because of the show. Is that a industry win
We are already barely surviving with the little people we have… and I don’t think it will be good.
