Anyone else feel they’ve failed to transition to this new era of being on a fully remote, geographically distributed, highly digital workforce?

I don’t miss the M-F/9-5 office cubicle but we’ve gone too far when our typical teams span 10 time zones and involve so many people who you’ll never meet in person. And we’re subjected to endless distracting emails and pings and virtually no in-person discussions.

I’d honestly rather go back to something in-between but maybe that ship has sailed.

What’s the appraisal cycle in citi ? If I join in last week of Aug , would I be eligible for next year appraisal ?

So I pulled an all nighter on Monday to do this thing, spend Tuesday like a zombie (and I had 5 calls!!!) then on 6PM the senior reviewing my work came back with comments that I needed to turn “ASAP”. I was so tired I just said I would not because I needed to sleep. I sent them today at 1:30 PM.
Would you get mad if your mid-level/junior did that? I’m all for pulling all-nighters and billing but everything has a limit.

I am currently serving notice of 2 months and left with 15 more days. Suddenly my HR contacts me that they want to relieve me in 2 days when it was agreed mutually at the time of resignation that they want me to serve full notice. I do not want an early release. What should I do now?

I was told I was the top candidate for a role after final rounds, but the role was impacted by the hiring freeze. Since then I’ve reached out to the recruiter but haven’t gotten any response (been almost 3 months). I saw a posting recently for another role that would be a good fit - should I reach out to the recruiter if I plan on applying?
