I'm a SWE from Italy. Love my country but salary and taxes here are outrageous. Got 2yrs experience in fullstack and data science, 2masters, a peer reviewed paper and outperform all my peers for 24k€ a year.
I'm thinkin about landing a remote SWE job (leetcoding and building a portfolio this summer).
Have you got some advice? Is it possible to work for US remotely without visa? What other countries pay well? Is it possible to land a 100k$+ with this kind of experience and working from Italy?

What do you think about switching tech stacks vs becoming an expert in one stack? I am a backend Java engineer, and have solely used Java since I've started my software engineering career about 2 years ago. Things are apparently going to get better after a client will be leaving, I’ll get to work on different brands but I am feeling pretty burnt out from the agency I’m at. Will new clients help? Or should I look elsewhere. Been at the agency almost 3 years, I feel like I need to switch things up for my sanity.

So as a 30ish yo with a government/PE/tech background and CIPM/CIPP… I’m finding privacy work is just much easier and interesting than other kinds, but still pays plenty well.

Is it too late/inadvisable to go to law school to specifically aim for privacy work?

I just find some firms are unwilling to entertain the idea that anyone but a lawyer has anything relevant to contribute in this space…

Anyone here adopt a puppy during the infertility struggle? Husband and I considering it to have something positive throughout this situation and thinking the extra companionship would be helpful. I work from home. Husband has had many family dogs and lots of experience with it, I’ve had a family cat before. I want out of healthcare so badly but as the sole wage earner in my family I cannot afford to start over in an entry level role in a new industry. I am so systemically exhausted I am struggling to translate my current skill-set to market myself into non- healthcare markets. I am currently a medical biller and coder that just graduated. I am currently in an entry level position because I am still studying to get certified. I will have a year's work of exp in July and will sign a contract for another year because my boss is training me in more I don't know.
