The best advice anyone could give you would be to pivot into the health tech realm as an analyst. If you’re still earlier in your career, you have the opportunity to take your transfer skills and move into an analyst role that will pay five times more than the ceiling you would reach in traditional healthcare. You have a golden opportunity to change your path to a less stressful, more lucrative career.
Once your certified you should be able to find something making more. Coders get paid more than billers. If you are going into coding your pay is going to depend on what type of coding you are doing, IP coders get paid the most usually. I have been doing OP surgery coding for the last 10+ years. I am currently making $36 an hour and I am certified. I think its definitely a great career to be in, just find the right company to work with, and if your boss is a good training, allow her to train you as long as she will. That's especially important in this field.
