I have been struggling with adenomyosis (very very painful cramps) with nausea vomitting and what not. since 7yrs, the 2nd yr of my job. I am still working. touch wood. Felt low, drained, dead inside during those days, felt uncertain about life, career.. Survives on painkiller for 2 days every fucking month :'( since 4-5 yrs now.
Not sure about my future but thinking about it deeply haunts me at times during periods especially.
But, I take a day off every month no matter what, every month because of unbearable pain.
Life is still going on, uncertain though. But I don't want to give up at the moment. That will make me more depressed perhaps.
I am sure I might not be alone....
Take your time to heal. Make some time out with what makes you feel better , much better - that's what matters.
Working in Cloud and DevOps profile.
Hey.
I do not have endometriosis but I myself had a very stressful period in the last 3 years with work, pregnancy and losses. I can have some idea what you must be going thru.
From my experience, it is eventually up to us to define boundaries. Every industry is stressful to this date. I have seen school teachers working extra with such a low salary.
We cannot be expected to work the same everyday. Somedays we have energy to go the extra mile but some days we just cannot get up and it's fine. It is absolutely fine to take a break in between just for self care. Be unapologetic about your choices. The world doesn't care how you are coping, it's eventually an action on us only to take care.
Work on yourself, personally and professionally. Take deeper interest in your upskilling, hobbies etc.
It's a stress of mine too. I can only pick remote or hybrid work as the pain has gotten worse and hope for a manager that is understanding. I don't have any helpful tips unfortunately but I think just knowing you aren't alone is also a big relief. Atleast it is to me. Lots of good luck and peace to you 🍀
You can take help of homeopathy as it has helped me a lot with my recovery. Homeopathic medicine has a lot of possibilities with treatment. I am happy to discuss more and share doctor's info as well. DM me.
Work for a company that offers remote job.
