For me, I’m going for more classic looks of higher quality and made sustainability - in short clothes that will whether wear and tear and trends. Trying to get out of the fast fashion cycle that is awful for the environment and my budget.

Agree with above more expensive but higher quality items. Re-wearing them to get my cost per use down.
I went to Nordstrom this past year and worked with a personal stylist and it was transformative. They’ll want you to throw some money down but the stylist has introduced me to new designers who are great for my body type. I was very classic Ralph Lauren / Jcrew style but they showed me how to have fun with a bit more “street style” and I feel a whole new wave of confidence.

Department stores have stylists who work for free (they don't charge for their time/expertise). They can be a BIG help.
Nordstrom is a favorite- they’ll work with your style, budget, etc
