I want so badly to say yes I am optimistic but honestly, I am really worried and anxious. I want so badly for Kamala to win but I just don't know if the world is ready for a female president. I just feel like she has too many people against her just for being a woman.
Senior consultant 1 - ask your Republican friends this question. Would they vote for Condoleeza Rice for president? I'll bet that most would say yes. The reason many don't like Kamala is Kamala hasnt done much as the VP with respect to the border, which was her assigned task, and clearly covered for the president with his mental issues. Beyond supporting a woman's right to choose, I don't know what she has actually accomplished. I don't think it has anything to do with her gender or her ethnicity.

There is no way Trump wins with Kamala as the Dem nominee unless something happens to her. Basically all of Gen Z, Millenials, Black women (Black people in general), many of whom planned to just not vote, will vote for her no matter what and will organize and fundraise like mad. Look at the zoom call black women did hours after Biden stepped down to raise tens of millions of dollars for her. It’s over for Trump.
I placed a bet against Trump before Biden dropped out. I like my odds even better, now.
Trump’s now the oldest candidate to ever run, a felon, and even the Republicans know Harris is “tough on crime.” The undecided & apathetic voter won’t get off the couch to go vote against Harris. But, they will vote against Trump.
Of course, we can’t forget the racist and sexist votes - hatred will certainly get folks into the booth.
There are any number of ways to beat Trump, and the Harris candidacy is a particularly good one. It's poetic justice that a former prosecutor who took down sexual abusers and scam artists would wind up arrayed against Trump. If you wrote that in a novel or movie it would seem too fanciful. And the biggest issue in the fall will likely be reproductive rights, and Harris is also in a unique position to prosecute that case. As a Senator she happened to question some of the Supreme Court nominees who would go on to overturn Roe (and lied about their intentions when questioned by her and other Senators).
If the biggest issue in the fall is anything other than the border or the economy, then Trump doesn't deserve to win.
