South Sandy springs is nice. So is Vinings/Smyrna, which is a bit better in terms of traffic getting to midtown
South Sandy springs / right at 285&400
Based on what you’ve described try to stay walking distance to a neighborhood village where you will have bars, restaurants, and little shops…being just east of Piedmont park in morningside/Lenox park, VaHi, poncey higlands would give you those options and still manageable to get to the belt line to get to inman, o4w, grant park areas or up to buckhead if you wanted. Depending what flexibility you have with your career, if in midtown/downtown those areas are a quick drive or ebike ride.
Ponce City/Virginia Highlands area is AWESOME!
Sandy Springs
Depends on which part. I live in Sandy springs but inside 285 and its like the best of all worlds. Lower taxes, easy grocery shopping, 5 minutes to buckhead.
Brookhaven or Sandy Springs?
Brookhaven - lived here for years, lots of suburban feel neighborhoods but still ITP.
Question is...where is the party these days lol ?
Morningside / Virginia-Highland is what you are looking for. But bring $1.1M+ if you want to buy
Yeah if you can afford this area, it’s the best part of Atlanta in my opinion. Buckhead is too SEC.
Smyrna / Vinings. A hop and skip away from west side midtown
Dunwoody over Sandy springs forsure. I love the perimeter center area.
Community Builder
Virginia Highlands, Candler Park, Reynoldstown, Morningside
Just move to Alpharetta. Your welcome.
Lol as if you can “open” anything up on bumper to bumper traffic on 400…
decatur , east point, sandy springs, north druid hills
Buckhead
West midtown
Look at any of the neighborhoods in South Buckhead (e.g., Springlake, Memorial Park, Garden Hills, Peachtree Hills, Peachtree Park, Brookwood Hills) or any of the neighborhoods on the east side (e.g., Morningside, VaHi, Inman Park, Candler Park, Grant Park)
Goated?
North Druid hills, Brookhaven, Decatur, Avondale, maybe Scottsdale or Tucker if you are fine w/ a 45ish min commute into the city.
Also, Grant Park, Inman Park, Ormewood all great neighborhoods near downtown.
The vinings
Smyrna
Smyrna/Marietta area is really nice and pretty affordable
Check out East Point for buying, Village of Eagan Park specifically. Quiet part of town with easy access to downtown.
Ditto. Also Historic College Park (near Woodward Academy) and Hapeville (Virginia Park neighborhood) are right there as well. All are inside the perimeter with easy access into Atlanta via either the highway or surface streets.
Sandy springs/Marietta
