Does anyone have any insights on what a typical Sr. Associate Director makes at Boehringer Ingelheim? I have a range of 170-180k which I think is fair but don’t want to be underpaid. Also, any information regarding retirement planning or medical/dental benefits would be helpful. Haven’t gotten much out of HR. Thanks in advance!

If it’s happened more than once without clear feedback or support, it might be time to look elsewhere. A friend of mine stayed too long, hoping it would “be her turn,” but nothing changed until she made the move. If you’ve done the work and shown up, you deserve to grow. Sometimes the recognition comes from outside.
When it becomes clear there's no feasible path toward getting promoted. If you've expressed interest in advancement and done the work necessary and are still getting passed over, it's probably time to move on. Don't stick around hoping your manager will make good on an empty promise.

I think it is difficult to draw the line between "hard to be promoted" or "impossible to be promoted", as anything and anyone may be changed.
That would depend on the circumstances. If I felt like I was being overlooked unfairly, that would factor into my decision. But I'd also try to be honest with myself and consider what I could have done to make a promotion more likely. I mean, if I'm being overlooked, but I'm also phoning it in, I wouldn't take it as an insult that would inspire me to look elsewhere.
Depends. I’m in that boat now but almost 55. Would be hard to find a new job and I have a pension to look forward to at retirement. So I would say weigh the pros and cons before looking elsewhere.
I made the mistake of waiting around for a promotion once. I regret it but if I'm could go back I would have started to look for a new gig the first time I was passed over for promotion. It can be hard in sales, but a lot of industries will give any schmuck off the street a shot at being a sales manager before they promote a top sales person.
