Being a wealth manager has been the best decision of my life but the BIG con of this career is constantly being asked for free advice - where to invest their money, whether in stocks, bonds, real estate, or other investment vehicles. Do you have to deal with this too? What polite ways have you found to be everyone's personal and 'free' wealth manager? I don't want to sound rude but I also can't handle the disrespect.

I get it a lot too! I often cut short these conversations by saying I hate to offer advice without getting into the nitty gritties of your finances, and then proceed to tell them I don't have a lot of time since I'm busy with my own clients. They always get the point lol.
