Your promos are now at the mercy of the HR and your manager. And they have removed the 2 year period where you automatically become eligible for a promo. And they have added that you need to over deliver in multiple areas for a good amount of time before being considered.

So basically if your teammate is a chaatu and backstabs the team then they have a higher chance of being promoted even if you consistently put 15 hours at work for a whole year.
