Agree they do have a GC. It’s just not advertised who that person is.

like

Would ask whoever the conflicts partner is in your old office. They can coordinate with the CSL and get the waiver started.

like

No chance they don’t have a GC or equivalent.

Start with the Head of Recruiting. Kristina Lambright. She can point you in the right direction.

Hi everyone,

I will have my first chat with a Google Cloud recruiter for a TAM role in a couple of days. Any advice/tips you can give me? Also, a referral at this point would help in the process, or is not necessary once I already have this first interview scheduled?

Thanks!!

How did you give notice you were lateraling to people you like? Particularly if you haven't been there that long?

I'm lateraling to another firm because frankly I think the management of this one is terrible, but the people (and individual partners) I actually work with are awesome. I've only been here for about 18 months, so I imagine that short time frame will make it extra awkward 😬

Partners: I’m a sr. associate managing multiple cases without a whole lot of oversight. A few of the cases I am managing are very large, very fast, and very contentious. I try to be as immersed in the details as I can, but can’t know everything. I rely on others to give me accurate and actionable facts. Lately, the actions I have been taking have been based on wrong, inaccurate, or incomplete info. I then get reamed in M&Cs and look like an idiot. [Cont. in comments]

Hypo: client says they agreed to use a prior agreement another firm drafted as precedent for a new deal prior to engaging you. It’s maybe the most poorly written contact you’ve ever seen. Most material terms are arguably there, but it’s convoluted and you’d be embarrassed to put your name on it. There’s clearly a better way to draft it. People who don’t submit their time daily, how do you remember what you did and for how long? So I pulled an all nighter on Monday to do this thing, spend Tuesday like a zombie (and I had 5 calls!!!) then on 6PM the senior reviewing my work came back with comments that I needed to turn “ASAP”. I was so tired I just said I would not because I needed to sleep. I sent them today at 1:30 PM.
Would you get mad if your mid-level/junior did that? I’m all for pulling all-nighters and billing but everything has a limit.
