Damn, y’all got van cleef arpel money, any of you single 😅?
VCA all the way! I agree with your sentiment on Cartier, and strongly prefer the alhambra origin story. The design is inspired by a four-leaf clover and I am often reminded of Arpels' quote: to be lucky you must believe in luck. It's almost the opposite of the traditional "fortune favors the bold" saying. To me, VCA says fortune favors the simple, natural, unspoken. Love their quiet-luxurious look.
As a guy I love the Cartier bracelets and will definitely be buying one for myself and future wife
I’d say, there’s something beautiful about the simplicity and clean lines of the love bracelet. And that’s why I’m considering buying one. My one aversion however, is its representation of a chastity belt. As a feminist, it just doesn’t sit well with me. But I suppose my wedding rings also represent something similar. Not trying to slam Cartier or anything. I’m genuinely trying to figure out if the love is worth $6550 to me. I might as well spend a few thousand more a buy an Hermès Kelly!
As I think about it more, I definitely gravitate towards the whimsical and playful design and approach to jewelry that VCA offers. Jewelry should be fun!
I like both. I mix my VCA and Cartier pieces.
My primary objection is to the chastity belt association as well. And it’s so common these days. I’d rather put the money toward a more unique piece of jewelry or a nice bag (like the Kelly).
I love my rose gold love bangle :)
Selling the white gold 16 if you are interested:)
Ooof love it with the yacht master
The love bracelet is so overdone these days
