Ex-MBB, recently started a new MM PE role, but had also applied to HBS in case the PE route doesn’t work out. Thankfully, both the PE and HBS applications were successful. Now I need to decide whether to leave my current role after only 6-10 months to go to business school, or try to defer the MBA.

What should I do? I’m torn between wanting to do MBA at an earlier age vs ensuring good PE employability post MBA(either at current firm or other). Not sure how well 6-10 Mos pre-MBA PE exp is valued

Any Atomic Habit readers here? I’m brainstorming identity-based habits for two things I want to change:

-I want to bill more hours, so my goal is to become the type of person who bills at least 8 a day
-I want to drink less alcohol, so my goal is to become the type of person who drinks occasionally

Neither of these feel that helpful. Any one have suggestions for other identity-based goals that get at these changes I want to make?

Is it a fail of character leaving biglaw? I want to leave, but despite the constant stress and suffering, I can’t avoid feeling like it’s my fault or that maybe I’m over exaggerating how I feel. All my colleagues feel ridiculously happy, I’m the grinch one that’s never enjoying the grind (but the grind is hard and competitive, very competitive) :( any thoughts? ZS fish, Is there a Senior Consultant level at the firm? I am currently a M3 in Lighthouse at 174k base (7.5YoE) doing data science.
If SC doesn't exist, is Manager a good level to target, or is Consultant more like it? Looking for 200k base at a minimum.
Expect my current year TC to be around 200-210k.
