Genuinely curious: how much of the process is performance-driven vs. normalization, budgets, and visibility?
So, I've been at this place for almost four years now.... started right after college. Back then, as a fresh grad, I totally bought into the idea that if you just performed well, you could achieve anything here.
I can't speak for other companies, since I don't have that experience, but I can tell you one thing for sure about DI, they just don't value you. It's not about how good you are..... it's all about office politics and sucking up. You end up giving your all and completely forgetting about your personal life. They have promoted people who are on bench for entire year, and for others they give reason oh you were on bench for a month so that's why not promoted.
For few they have promoted in 1.5-2 years and for some they give reason oh we promote only when you spent more than 3 years in one role..they are all hypocrite shitty people.
They just sounds very supportive but 1 in 100 director is good.
The top brass..... these "CEO, happiness officers" and "people officers" ......they talk a big game about how amazing they and their policies are, but it's all just for show, for PR. They don't have any good projects. The directors, ADs, and EDs are super toxic.... they're only out for themselves. A few of these leaders will even abuse you in meetings. If you don't do things their way, they'll just mess with your head. And if you look at these same leaders LinkedIn profiles, they look like the most chill, wonderful people to work with. But once you actually start working with them, you realize they're incredibly toxic. People from outside think DI is super laid-back, but it's the absolute worst. Your hard work will never get the recognition it deserves.
Honestly, it's better to just leave.
