💯 In fact, I’m sure they played it in the room, first. Before presenting the script, and if not, something about it was in the strat setup.
But, to be fair, the monologue just puts into words the reality of being a woman. This did that, too.

But why? It’s about women. Not transgender women. It’s about what women face and have to deal with. And it’s about empowering us.
Transgender women do not have the same experience as women. They have their own issues, biases and things to overcome. If you want to support transgender women, make a spot about them and their struggles.
But let a spot empowering women just be about women. Straight, gay, and bi women. But women.

You’re saying transgender women aren’t women. That’s not civility.
To exclude trans women from the conversation about women, is a very white, outdated feminist mindset and does not help women out.
However, if Nike wants to do something for trans athletes, they need to put their money where their mouth is. Donate, create binders and not just sport bras. Educate. Use their power.
The problem is that the trans athlete debate is a moral panic brought on by the Republican Party, making it sound like bigger issue than it is. Trans athletes make up .02% of all college athletes. And NCAA requires a certain amount of HRT to maintain on the team, as after x amount of years on HRT, hormone levels level out to be similar to that of a cis person. The way trans people are treated (50% trans youth are homeless and have much shorter life spans) , Nike needs to do a lot more than a Super Bowl commercial, to make allyship with the trans community.
And as a gender non conforming queer person, I understand how detrimental the anti trans rhetoric in sports can be to the entire safety of trans people. You think this is just about sports? You think theyll stop at sports? This is only the beginning of the anti trans and queer agenda. I envy your ignorance to be able to live in bliss.
And if we are talking physiological differences, do you not know what sports are? They're all about physiological differences. So someone who's 6 feet shouldnt be allowed to play sports against someone 5 feet bc of the physiological advantage? Okay let's keep this on th e same playing field. Let's have trans men play on womens soccer teams. Something tells me if a man went out in a full beard, playing with all women, the transphobes would be pissed. But that's your very own logic.

Interestingly Nike stayed away from the transgender issue-
@Havas. No way they were going to touch the transgender issue. Maybe they’ll release something later this year. Maybe. But definitely not during Super Bowl
It would’ve been cool though if they slipped a couple in during the montage and then revealed and highlighted those two later in a year in another spot that morphed from the SB one.
