I have a bit more experience than that and agree it’s a tough spot. I did litigation before I went in-house and it makes finding a position a bit more difficult. However, I think that could matter less if you have a good amount of experience in your current role (like 3 plus). If you are only a year in, I think you may have difficulty moving out of lit again.
Is this role strictly litigation, so that you are forced to stay in this lane? Or is this litigation+, where work distribution is more fluid and you can take on things outside litigation? If the latter, you may be able to have your cake and eat it too.
I would say 90% litigation and 10% more advisory.
