Do any of your organizations offer professional development courses or certificate programs? If so what types? Are they free for employees?

We do offer educational and professional development programs. Many are free, while others may be eligible for reimbursement or discounted tuition for the course. We have some of the best opportunities for nurses and other medical staff around. We also have 2 training centers for clinical staff and faculty.

Yeah I feel that my organization offers so many free or reimbursement courses it's just finding time to complete them is my issue because the course are during work hours vs outside of work hours where I can manage time better

One time I had opposing counsel who just lost hard after oral argument stand up and say, "I'd just like to note my appeal." Um... OK....

Genuine question: does any consulting firm in Canada have a life sciences practice? Or is it mostly public health practice? What kind of projects do you do for life sciences clients? Thanks!

Has anyone here gone through a marriage based green card process with Deloitte? I believe I read somewhere that you can start that process regardless of being in an application period or not. Want to hear some stories of length, initiation, etc

Cisco

Pros:

- fairly decent place to work (from someone who worked with the Vancouver and San Jose offices). never met a blue badger (permanent employee) who had awful things to say.

- Ashley Goodall (their SVP, Methods & Intelligence) co-authored a brilliant book on leadership and people management called “Nine Lies About Work” that makes me believe they can be an awesome place to work

Cons:

- red badgers had low morale since they’re contract workers and can be terminated at any time

My agency has started planning Black History Month, and it got me thinking...

Between the white people suddenly realizing systemic racism is real, the death of George Floyd, and the recent insurrection in DC, do we think more brands are going to do or say anything meaningful this year than in year's past?

I currently work in Atlanta for a healthcare management company that is local to the area. I just got into the healthcare industry and have my bachelors degree in health science. I work in a position in the revenue cycle and I am looking to possibly get a new job in a more established company. I want more stability and opportunity within a company. Does anyone know of any places in/around Atlanta or remote that may fit this criteria? Sorry for the vagueness. Thanks!

Working in a large health system as a quality professional WFH. I rarely see anyone else on my team, and when I do present findings I see no changes happening. Maybe they’re happening and I just don’t have a role in that oversight but the motivation to keep going is whittling down to nothing. I’ve been in healthcare for years but graduated with a masters in last two years and was hoping for something different. I have been applying to so many jobs and not many calls back. Any advice ?

Any advice on how to pick the best company for me when offered a position from more than 1 company? I've been interviewing extensively with 4 companies, and I believe 2 are getting ready to send offers. If I receive more than 1 offer - how do I choose? I compared benefits, pros/cons, compared them on Glassdoor, questioned them about growth opportunities, asked about their culture.....anything I am missing? Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

I have an MHA and 4 years of management experience. I’m currently a manager, but seeking a director level position. Any advice for trying to temper my expectations? I feel like all director level positions have 5 years in the posting, but a lot of my peers with the same experience are already in director level positions. Are they just lucky? Am I jumping the gun? Do I just need to stick it out?

I am only 4 months into being a surgical coordinator. I love the position itself however I am struggling to adapt into my new work environment. My position puts me in a place where I need to interact with my new coworkers but they are not as welcoming as I expected. There is also another surgical coordinator however I have come to find from other staff that there is a long history of her running other staff away and not fully training other surgical coordinator staff properly. Any suggestions?
