I suppose some people do the outdoor wait in line thing.
Northern cold climate dweller here - so no, I’m not lining up in near-zero temps for a few $$$ off something I probably don’t really need.
I think the Black Friday campouts and stampedes are a thing of the past. They stopped in the pandemic and no one seemed to think it was a good idea to bring them back. Black Friday now goes on for weeks online, so there's no point is getting up at 4 am, the deals are just always arriving. I did okay shopping them last year, hoping to repeat that experience this time around.
I'm like you... I'll stick to the online deals. So much easier to shop when I want without dealing with the crowds. Win-win!
Yeah I kind of think that's a bygone era, people don't need to camp out anymore because they can just get the same deals online and have the whole thing shipped to their door. I guess it's better because we don't have the physical concerns about literal stampedes that I remember from my childhood (do you guys remember those stories??). I'm frankly not a big Black Friday shopper myself, feels like a gimmick
I don't know if people still do or not but I can tell you I certainly am not one of them. My coworker and I were just having this talk about how we used to get up at the crack of dawn to go shopping and wait in line in the cold for some $2 wash cloths from Kohls. Those were the good ol' days hahah.
It’s different since COVID. Most stores don’t open until 6 am now and start having their Black Friday sales weeks before and on line.
