Does the Constitution say 'We the people of the United States' or 'We the citizens of the United States'?
Article 1 Section 2 even says, 'No ****Person**** shall be a Representative who shall not have attained to the Age of twenty five Years, and been seven Years a ****Citizen**** of the United States...' So it's not like the founders were conflating people with citizens.
I bet MAGA thought they had something here.
What are you crying about? I answered the bad faith question. Now what?
💯 it is and it’s hilarious none of the progressives can simply just say yes.
It's amazing how MAGA is getting absolutely curb stomped by their own dumb talking point.
They picked a fight with the founding fathers. Talk about an unforced error 😂😂

Yes, so we should abolish ICE who keep killing US citizens

Except in this case the agents in question went out of their way to make physical contact with demonstrators. And the “vehicle vandalism” was not connected to this in any way. Nice try though.
What is protect? Does North Korea get an A for low crime? An F for government intrusion? Protection to live your life as you want, and allows you to burden others with your lifestyle? Protect you from others lifestyle choices?
This is on the right path. Too many right wing nutters seem to think that "protection" means intrusion into all matters of personal liberties. Principles like freedom of religion - which also means freedom from a state sponsored, pre ordained religion pushed to the fore (e.g. Christianity). Freedom from illegal/warrantless search and seizure. Freedom of movement (the ability to travel in public spaces without having law enforcement ask to see ID/show your papers. Protection in the form of affordable access to safe and reliable healthcare. The ability for US kids to go to school and not worry about a mass shooting. Right now what is held up and deemed "protection" is a bunch a nonsensical boogymen with little to no basis in reality.

I believe the question was not asked in good faith during The State of the Union address.

The preamble clearly states “…establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty….”

What is your definition “protect”? And where are its limits?
read the oath of office, the answer to your question is in it

The president’s oath of office outlines his duties, not the duties of government. And his job is to protect the Constitution.
