If you only had about $500 for a standing desk or a ergonomic chair, which would you choose? Any particular recs would be helpful! (Currently have a wooden chair and desk and want to make an upgrade this year!)

I’d go for the chair, especially if you’re upgrading from a wooden one. The best bang for your buck at that price range would be a used Herman Miller - I got one last year and it’s done wonders for my back and posture.

I was looking at used Aerons and went down a rabbit hole of “fakes”, which kind of turned me off. I’m going to look into this again!

Ergonomic Chair Reco:

Crandall refurbished Leap V 2. I believe it was around $500 and they usually have extra little promos around major holidays (you could score another 10% off). Bought this chair back in the day for bar prep and couldn’t tell the difference between this refurbished model and a brand new Leap V 2 from Steelseries.

I’ll look into Crandall, too! Thank you!

I like my standing desk.

I recently ordered this standing desk converter from Costco and it works great! Fully electric so you don't have to do any lifting yourself, and very reasonably priced. Might even be able to get both the desk converter and an ergonomic chair at this price.

Whoa! Thanks so much! I might shop around for a version that better matches my set up aesthetic, but this is a good option for sure!!

Chair because you can’t stand all day and you’ll need a good chair to sit in. I chose the standing desk and have a crappy office chair so I’m still miserable. Now I need to spend on a chair too.

Just landed a full time gig, looking to get some furniture so I’m not working on my parents’ kitchen table during this remote period. Any recommendations for desks and chairs? I’m hoping to find something that’s easy to assemble and break down for when I need to move, and something that won’t cost an arm and a leg.

I know everyone has a different kind of setup that works for them. I currently have a laptop, drawing pad, second monitor, and a desk riser.

The new company I’m at now sent me an email from an email address that was HR@companyName.careers saying I was accepted for the position. They gave me paperwork to fill out and sign to accept the position

I fill out the paperwork and send it back to them and it goes through… then a few days later I go back to the email to say something else and I get this…?
Then today I got a check from the company In the mail to setup my home office, and it’s signed by someone I’ve never met before or heard of…?

What…..

A couple falls in love and moves in together. One person is wealthy and the other is not. The wealthy partner pays for most of the basic home necessities. The wealthy partner also pays for many vacations including the children of both partners. The wealthy partner also pays for expensive car repairs and college tuition for the children of the less wealthy partner. Then, the couple breaks up. Does the wealthy partner have rights to reimbursement? They never married.
