For people who came to google on H-1Bs, when did the legal immigration team tell you it was okay to turn in your two weeks notice? Once you get approval? Once they file?

Hi all, my wife and I have our AOS pending (current) but have our EAD Parole card issued to us. Our stamped visa has now expired as well. I heard folks entering on EAD have to go through a secondary inspection process. Can someone elaborate what this is and the documentation I need to carry?
