I think we know what will happen. A lot of vendors and tech startups will be peddling "AI solutions" for education, and people who don't know what they're doing will spend a fortune on it so they can lay off real teachers. And it will all fail. I usually don't think I can see into the future, but in this case anyone can.

A lot of people are still afraid of AI. I think eventually people will get used to it. I mean think about how people were freaking out over Siri, Alexa, and Hey Google. Now they use it all the time.
I get that AI is getting smarter, but do we really want a future where kids are learning everything from machines? I had teachers who inspired me, challenged me, and honestly, just made learning fun. An AI might be able to explain calculus, but can it tell a joke that actually lands?

Well, alexa can tell some pretty funny jokes.....I haven't heard AI jokes.
It's going to happen. It's just a matter of time.
Isaac Asimov’s short story “The Fun They Had” is, as good science fiction often is, prescient.
What they will likely do is replace teachers with aides who are far less qualified. They will be responsible for supervising the classroom, but not for educating anyone. It will be part time, as no lesson planning, conferencing, grading, or staff meetings will be required. No benefits, no salaries--it will save many millions of dollars, and will be devastating to education. Students with special needs will not receive services unless their families can afford special schools, with real teachers--which will exsist, but under a completely different framework. It will be a disaster, and a lot of people will suffer before they figure out and admit their mistake.
