Considering my last job paid $50k and had worse work-life balance and was super micromanaged, I definitely enjoy the USDC.
That said, now that I’ve got my foot in the consulting door, my $80k/ year feels weak.
D3 do you have any insight for new hires to the USDC who have plans to transfer to core audit after completing the CPA exam?
Everyday is Christmas
Been here for 5 years. Almost left last year but a new tc package made me stay and I haven't regretted it.
It’s funny
I have been in USDC 3 months and just ramping up my first project and everyone I have been working with is great! I also think the project will be a lot of fun. Is not to say the work has been hectic lots of changing directions, but considering that everyone is new to the firm, and it’s a new project and client…I just need to see where things go. For now I’m able to say I work no more than my 8 hours, I won’t be traveling, I’m learning a lot, got the time for cloud certification and getting $ for it.. I have love it so far …
Been here 2+ years. Don't hate it, but if I find a better opportunity I'll take it.
Same here. Love the people, pay is decent
It's been great. I was nervous coming into it as there is a lot of negative feedback and online. I get to work from home, compensation is on par and as a multiple discipline professional I can jump around on projects as I want and don't have to be a one trick pony.
If you don’t mind me asking, how was your onboarding experience? I just accepted my offer and am already noticing some differences from my friends not in USDC, and would love some more insight.
It ultimately comes down to your project. Each project has their own culture, work hours, nuances, etc. I've had some terrible projects and some great projects. Terrible projects had primarily Indian management; chaotic, unorganized, everything done last second, everything is urgent, constant miscommunication. Pleasant projects had primarily white management; things are well planned, there is ample slack in case something comes out of left field, clear and concise communication, each meeting had crystal clear action items. Obviously, the client is a big part of the picture as well but good management can make a bad client more manageable, bad management will make working with a bad client hell. All this has been my experience over the last 4 years with D.
Coming up on a year and I’m enjoying it. Can see myself staying here long term. I enjoy the variety, work/life balance and the ability to WFH. I’m 3 projects in and despite some crazy clients, I’ve had great teams. Plus I’m learning a lot.
