I’ve never been able to wear Jcrew denim. I like loft, Zara and Abercrombie is my go to lately. Dont feel bad, shopping is a confusing and cruel game these days with every shop being a different size and feel.
In my experience, denim cut varies WILDLY from company to company. You just have to find your right fit! Don’t despair :)
Actually, I love most of them. Particularly the curvy line, but even the regulars fit me well. My other go-tos are Madewell (same parent company), (curvy) AE, Lauren Ralph Lauren, and Express. If you tend to be less curvy and more of a straight fit (i.e. less hips), I’d recommend Polo Ralph Lauren and the non curvy AE.
Maybe the issue is that they didn’t have any of the curvy line in store. I am very petite and curvy and the regular jeans were clearly not made for curves.
I used to wear j crew denim and then they changed up their brands and now noneeee of them fit me well/look good, it’s ridiculous how much of a shift even the same sizes were in terms of fit.
I moved from JCrew to Madewell curvy - and madewell is owned by the same parent company with J Crew. I then actually moved to Abercrombie Curve Love line, and that’s been my absolute go to the last 3-4 years. Highly recommend!
My denim go to’s are -
- Express: for when I could ruin my clothes, and wouldn’t be heartbroken (for airport, playgrounds, running errands…)
- Paige: perfect fit in most cuts that I like! (For work, nicer events, meeting friends…)
A couple Joe’s jeans cuts to work too! This brand narrowing down has really saved me a lot of time over the last five years.
I’m 5’2 and I love a few pieces from j crew. That’s actually where I get all of my denim jeans from
The high waisted with the gold buttons are my favorite. I’m a curvy 8 & they have stretch. Came out maybe three years ago. My favorite are Zara & Loft. I buy the same denim or white every year. I love Mother as well. Also I have a dress up Tory Burch pair for date night or out with friends. I only buy dark denim.
Quite the opposite for me. Jcrew and Banana are few brands I can run into without trying anything on. Everyone has their store though!
Go to Nordstrom Rack. Tons of different brands to try and solid prices. I don't like J Crew denim either. My go-to's are Joes, AG jeans, Madewell, Eddie Bauer.
