Freelance writers, especially new ones, how do you find stories to cold pitch?

Check out HARO, they connect you with experts to help you tell stories, https://www.helpareporter.com/

Gotta exhaust every avenue of information available to you. Do you have connections with any PR companies? Do you know anyone in the industry? You can search online for events to cover firsthand. Meet people and get their first hand accounts

Social media is your friend. Once you come up with a concept, you can go online and post something like "Hey people who do X, I'm looking to hear about your experiences to do Y" and then you can easily learn more about your idea and flesh it out into something you can pitch

You got the entirety of the internet at your disposal to use as inspiration. Pick some topic you like and see what the experts in that field are talking about, get an idea of where the conversation is being held, what is being discusses, and how you can push it forward. Talk to people, read articles, attend events, and write stuff down whenever you can

I suggest you check out this article, it's pretty thorough so there should be at least one thing in it that you can start doing yourself: https://linksourcery.com/blog/how-do-journalists-find-stories/

Hey guys! Can we leave a company within 2 weeks of joining?

Who knows about Goosehead insurances work culture. 5 min into sourcing I’m seeing some discouraging statistics about who they move up faster vs who they don’t. I have a interview this week and I don’t know if I should even continue forward. My main goal is growth and if it’s going to be an unfair environment then that’s a no go.

How much should a TV producer be paid a year? I've been working as a digital producer for 2 years now and I've been traveling for the last 4 years, so I'm not sure what would be a fair payment in the US for a TV producer. Any comment will be extremely helpful.

Tell me your craziest experience working with a TV network. Here comes mine:

I'm American, but my family is mostly Colombian. I was told my aunt and cousins would come here for 2 weeks. I discovered they were going to be paid to appear in a famous Hispanic TV show, where a "judge" receives a case, hears the plaintiffs and defendants and renders a verdict. But of course, it's all fake and payed 😂 turns out she wanted me to go there (even though I don't work for that TV network) so she's sure she'll be paid at the end of the show. Wth did I just do.

The argument that climate change is not man-made has been disproven by science over and over again, yet many people believe that the global crisis is either not real, not of our making, or both, in part because the news media deliberately chooses not to talk about it because it doesn't sell enough.

"Don't Look Up" is as real as it can be.

One of my direct reports has asked about going part time. They currently manage special reports in a bi-weekly publication, working closely with sales, freelance writers, and an internal designer. Job duties are primarily project management and editing/proofreading. As the first read on articles, they need to have an understanding of the material (business/regulation). Has anyone had experience with job sharing in this type of a role?
