Ask them, which are the top priorities with the highest urgency and go in there.
Not so much anymore. I've got a good relationship with my boss and have no problem asking her to clarify which of my tasks should be prioritized when I get overwhelmed. I wouldn't worry about sounding uncooperative by asking the same. Doing so is attempting to be more cooperative, not less.

Yes it’s good to be open and honest, and I’m very glad you had that relationship.
Sometimes it's a good idea to sound uncooperative. If you're too accommodating people tend to get used to that, and pretty soon you're being exploited. It's good to resist at times and let it be known that you won't always agree to take on extra work. Think about graceful ways to say no, as that can help. You can cite time pressures, the amount of tasks you're working on at present, and so on.

Yeah that’s very true, and I don’t want it to come across that way either. It can be a hard one to balance and the last thing I want is to overload and drain myself out as that’s not healthy.
I'm very curious about this, too! I thought it was just a "me" thing so it's nice to know this is a struggle for others in the HR field.

I’m certain there are plenty of us that feel this way, I do find it doesn’t get mentioned that much so I’m glad in a way that it’s not just me either😁
