It refers to someone who can run any project like a fuckin boss.
Nice completely bullshit answer, Producer 1!
I’d define “integrated” as a producer capable of producing both the content being viewed/experienced as well as the “vehicle” of which it is delivered to the consumer (magazine, websites, digital, etc.).
Hahaha, you must be one of the rare fully integrated ones who does banners, OOH, experiential and runs $2m shoots lol. Good on ya.
I’m not sure I’d apply the word generalist to a producer proficient in multiple mediums.
Level of knowledge across each should determine seniority level.
Well it’s integrated.
Someone who does many things and none of them particularly good.
Generalist without a lot of experience in any one area?
I used to be at McCann and integrated meant art and broadcast.
It’s usually used by recruiters for digital producer roles to make them sound better than they are - gloried PM’s
"We need to bill this person out at a higher rate." or "We're cutting corners so this is your job now." is usually how it goes.
When it first came out, it meant Digital and Broadcast in one. Now it means everything under the sun so the agency captures as much revenue as possible.
Correct. But cheers to generalizing! /s
i thought it was one who was well versed in art and broadcast but someone today said a digital producer mixed with art and broadcast.
sounds like a LOT of work to me...
It seems that when the term first came about, it was meant to describe someone who produced broadcast and websites, as if that exists...but since that person does not exist, the definition has become muddled and varies from place to place.
Im an integrated producer. I produce broadcast, interactive, and experiential.
What do you mean specifically by “interactive”? Do you produce mobile apps, micro sites, rich media banner ads? Do you work for both traditional and digital ad agencies?
Websites, micosites and apps is what I'd consider tradition interactive work. AR and VR would be the latest fad for interactive. Of which I've only done AR
Cool. I would love to do AR. Did you go to the VR event at the tribecca film festival? It was amazing
I wish, I've been in past years... As a freelancer there's no one to foot the bill. Maybe next year, I'm thinking about getting back in the full time world 🤷🏿♂️
I still say it’s someone who does a lot of things ok, versus someone who does one thing really well. Sorry. I would go toe to toe on broadcast against any “integrated” producer and crush them.
