Hahaha. Yes there is a difference. If you are traditional consulting team you can bet on 60+ consistently

This is my experience. 8am-10pm (and often later) are not uncommon.

I can’t speak to McKinsey specifically, but with experience with the other big 3 firms, yes there definitely is a difference. I think it is unlikely you’d consistently work 50 or less hours a week at an MBB. You have to think about what you value more and what is prompting you to move (e.g., more money, “prestige”, etc.). Feel free to reply with questions as someone who has been on both sides.

I will caveat everything with it depends on who you’re working with, the specific project/client, what part of the company you are in (e.g., some Accenture work is more strategy oriented, some is more tech implementation).
1. It can be harder, because it often feels like the expectations are higher. The amount is usually more.
2. It’s can be both. It feels like important and impactful work for the client. Sometime the role can be more grunt work at the lower levels, especially if less interaction with the client.
3. I wouldn’t necessarily say harsh but the pace is faster and expectations can be higher.
What role are you interviewing for?

I will also say, in my experience, in addition to more hours, MBB at the more junior levels may have more grunt work than a similar level at big4 / ACN.
