Hi Fishes, I have an interview with PwC AC in the coming week. My tech stack is Power BI, SQL, SSRS,SSIS and Tableau. YEO -4 Current CTC is 9 LPA. During the initial call with the recruiter he asked for ny expected CTC and I asked for 17 LPA. Can anyone from PwC comment on this? Is this too much to ask or is this what someone at my current level would get paid at PwC. Please let me know!!!! PwC PwC India Pwc AC Deloitte Deloitte USI

How many hours a week do you ACTUALLY work?
Toronto ad fish 🤠 I’ve spent most of my career working as a copywriter in London (6 years here, 2 years Toronto) and the market is pretty different here. I’m planning on moving back home but wondered….how do you find work in Toronto? Agencies barely post openings, is the recruiter scene strong? Is it mostly who you know?

Rising Star
It feels like it’ll get worse before it gets better. We’ve been anticipating a recession now since COVID and as a result spend is down across the board.
Pro
I’ve never seen it like this. I’ve seen exactly two job postings for my level role in going on 4 months, and both companies paused their searches.
It’s kinda impossible to say given how much the tariff yo-yo is causing clients and agencies to be cautious. Everyone’s freaking out about AI, but at least from what I can see the bigger short term problem is clients pausing spend until they are more confident in what happens in near future.
Let's be fair: Economics doesn't exist — it's actually Political Economy. Also, it's always wise to be suspicious of predictions.

It's hard to say, but I agree with Sr. Strategist 1 that it's a political economy. It looks like the 'thrift economy' will loom around for 3-4 years. (TD's research says it'll pick up in 2027, but broader searches and people in finance are predicting it will be a haul until at least 2030). Given the circumstances and the new government, it might take a few years to bounce back. We're already seeing the impact in the shift in business focus; a few companies are moving their businesses to different markets to scale profits. I hope the creatives in the business won't be impacted, but I can't say the same about other departments
Nobody can predict the future. But my money is on a fairly crappy few years.

Nobody knows for sure but i don’t see a bright future when it comes to job opportunities
There will be no trade deal before renegotiation of CUSMA in a year. The US will squeeze us through tariffs until then. The terms they actually demand in a year, who knows. Meanwhile, our taxes will be going up. Google ‘Canadian economy in the 90s’ to see what the near future could look like.
