What is a weird/fun/interesting fact about you?
I think deep dish pizza is overrated.
Is it bad luck to pawn a promise ring?
The new company I’m at now sent me an email from an email address that was HR@companyName.careers saying I was accepted for the position. They gave me paperwork to fill out and sign to accept the position
I fill out the paperwork and send it back to them and it goes through… then a few days later I go back to the email to say something else and I get this…?
Then today I got a check from the company In the mail to setup my home office, and it’s signed by someone I’ve never met before or heard of…?
What…..

We need a better a singles bowl

You need to apply for an annulment of your first marriage and it has to be approved before you can marry again in the church. Contact your local parish for details.
My SIL did it several years ago and it took a while to get done.

⬆️This is correct. Also keep in mind that the annulment may or may not be granted.

Just start your own church - it worked for Henry VIII
Ask your priest.
Pro
Are catholic churches single use or something? Get married, toss it out?
Chief
Catholics don’t believe in divorce. You are married once in catholic teachings.
Pro
I don’t believe it’s possible, sorry.
That’s no reason not to have a beautiful ceremony with a religious officiant: I wanted to get married outdoors which isn’t allowed in the eyes of the church in Ireland - we married in the sunshine with an ex-priest serving as officiant and it was spiritual and beautiful. It was a big regular wedding, and most assumed it was a Catholic wedding, except for those who knew the rules.

Our family priest left priesthood to marry. We were happy for him but oh boy, did that destabilize our house.
Chief
As I understand it is very difficult. Had some friends that wanted to do this and it took years
Chief
Ask your priest. There may be a process of annulment but the guidance should be provided by your church/diocese.
You need an annulment, it takes some time and you will likely have to hire a canon lawyer (~$200), but 100% possible.
One of my parents was married in the church, got divorced, got marriage annulled, and then re married in the church

Couldn’t you just go to a different catholic church?
Pro
Yes - you have to declare parishes that you’ve been part of and they effectively “check your references”

My sister in law got her annulment approved.
Wife was previously married, got it annulled, we were married in a Catholic Church without issue, other than me not being catholic and preferring to not do a church wedding. But her family is all about it and wasn’t a hill I was going to die on.
They’ll do anything for the right size donation
Chief
If you can give a large donation… your first marriage gets magically annulled in the eyes of the church and you’re granted the privilege to pay to marry in the church again 🙃
Attorney no it’s not. Aunt and uncle did it for my cousin.
Divorced and remarried Catholic here. Unless your 1st marriage was annulled, you’re SOL. Civil law and Church law are two different things. The Catholic Church doesn’t recognize legal divorce. Therefore, unless the 1st marriage was annulled, remarriage is considered a sin.
