FAR material came in the mail and I haven’t read a thing. Driving myself crazy trying to figure out the best way to start studying. (First time test taker). Any advice?

SKIP THE LECTURES & SIMS! I’m telling you that approach saved me. I read the annotated book & make my own brief notes. I’ll do about 3-4 modules at a time, then go back & do the MCQs for those modules. Instead of SIMS, do the examples that the book has. I was failing exams until switching to this method. Especially with FAR, there is too much material by the time to do every lecture too much time will pass & you won’t remember anything from the beginning.

Becker? Open up the first lecture with the book and tweek to fit how you learn. One section at a time!

helpful

Yup Becker. I’ll give that a try, thanks!

like

Just follow your study program. Read the first section and watch the first lecture. Take a quiz and see how you do.

Start reading

Make time to go through the simulated exams (definitely missed that the first time I took FAR) and make sure you dedicate enough time to study and you can retain the topics you don’t know

If I am reading this correctly, this is the perfect time to be taking the CPA exam. You basically have 2-3 years to get through all the exams. Am I reading that right?

California peeps. I have a feeling I failed FAR, which is my last exam, but my score isn’t released until May 11. Can I submit the reapplication with the CA Board of Accountancy to speed up the retake and NTS process in case I failed? Or do I need to get my exam score first? I need to pass by mid June, else my REG score expires, hence the rush to resubmit the re-application.
