Fellow partner questioned my competency to a client with no basis (we have no active litigation together). So steamed. Recommended course of action?!

Yeah idk what A2 expects. A duel? Making a “thing” of it doesn’t make you look good in any way and as you note, it just calls attention to the situation. Especially if this is a first offense. If it continues to be an issue then maybe you talk one-on-one and say hey what’s going on, but it sounds like we’re talking about one idiotic remark from someone you don’t work with much. Let it die.

I’d have a sit-down with the fellow partner and probably would notify the managing partner. Partners owe a fiduciary duty to the firm, and I would argue that maligning a fellow partner hurts the reputation of the firm as a whole.

I’d like to know what sparked the discussion with the client and how often OP works with the partner on non-litigation matters or even associates with this person in general.

I am an experienced hire. My case might just take you by surprise. I joined EY GDS 10 months back at 40% hike (leaving PwC) and now Deloitte (DIJV) is offering me 2 level up designation at Manager level with another 40% hike. This has effectively doubled my salary in the last one year bt still I am confused to switch or not considering the amazing bonuses GDS payed off today. Please suggest.

I want to join a start up in my industry but I need to rescind a job acceptance from a more establish company. I resigned from my old job and didn’t start the new job yet. Is the non compete I signed, as part of the job offer acceptance for the position with the bigger company, enforceable if I rescind my job acceptance before I actually start a new job? I don’t think it is. I didn’t receive a sign on bonus so no additional consideration was exchanged from my understanding of my law classes.

Anyone have insight on working at Verily as a project manager?
