Mine is doing it for summers next week actually

Yes, I’ve done a few Zoom interviews while hiring a litigator for our Miami office. I wore a Firm polo shirt (and athletic shorts). I gave the applicants the option to dress casually but all of them were very professional. I thought it worked well and we just hired an attorney I think will be great. One tip for any of you doing a Zoom interview: if you own a cat, that’s fine; however, please put the cat away during the interview so it doesn’t constantly jump on the desk and sit in front of your face during the interview.

I haven’t even been able to identify any firms that are hiring. How did you hear of the opportunities? Through a recruiter, browsing firm websites, LinkedIn/google, personal referrals? Something else? I’d love to get in contact with firms that are actively looking. Currently AMLaw 200, Lit.

I had an initial in-office interview in the first week of March, after applying through a recruiter in February. So I was already in the funnel before the economy deteriorated.

Mine is doing for both laterals and summers

Yes, definitely.

Yes, they are.

We did. We actually just hired someone to start May 1. We’re still working remotely so I’m not sure how that’s going to work but that’s not something I have to worry about!

We contracted a new paralegal who asked to convert the in person interview to a phone interview because of covid. This was early March before we realised how bad the situation was but I immediately thought of her as a good candidate because she was thinking prudently about how to handle a crisis and really spotted it coming before I did. A few days later I had it and was happy I didn’t give it to her. A second level of interview took place on zoom (which was the norm by then). We selected her and one factor in her favour was the fact that she asked for the phone interview.

When you recruiters say at the end of a 15 min call.
“I will get back to you by the end of this week” does that really mean “your not right for this position”? Because this whole thing is a waste of time. I’ve did these calls with 3 recruiters and is yet to hear back from someone. Today would be the 4th recruiter that I’ve spoken to. Does this practice annoy you guys just as much as it does us? My dream career is to be a technical recruiter but this whole thing is discouraging.

I’ve been promoted with a title but not the responsibilities. I’m job searching and am primarily looking at postings that don’t include my promoted title — I’m not sure how to professionally articulate in an interview why I would be willing to take a “step down”. As I see it, I’m looking for a lateral move because I don’t actual have experience as a true “senior”.

Hi..
I Appeared for an interview for RPA - Automation Anywhere. I didn't got any response after the interview. Then when I reached hiring manager through LinkedIn I got to know I cleared all the rounds but my expected cts is high so they might have rejected. First thing is I never said what I am expecting . And I clearly told In managerial round that I am open for salary discussion.

But no one responded. Will I get the call back in time? Or I just leave it and go ahead with other companies?

I'm non US citizen and thinking of moving back to EU. My plan is getting remote opportunities across the world and work as a freelancer. My speciality is Data analytics and BI (Qlikview, Tableau). 1) How likely I can get a gig from the US? 2) if a job looking for a remote 2-3 months contract do they care what country I'm in? 3) how can I compete Indian rates as I'm in Europe 60-70$ per hour as a BI consultant is a good rate but I see online rates as low 10$😫?
