I’ve got a set rate with my dog walker and when she watches him over night it’s a set rate. I don’t tip but I give holiday gifts/money, etc.
Why does our culture expect to tip on everything!!!!

😳 oh damn
I always tipped my dog walker. She was caring for my babies and she always went above and beyond for my fur babies.
I should also mention that I thought that my dog walker should have charged me more for walking my two dogs and driving 20+ miles out of her way to care for them. So my tip was to get her to what I thought was a more appropriate amount. Since she was my dog walker for years I also gave her a bonus at the holidays. I considered her to be part of my dog’s care team and wanted her to know how much I appreciated her being there for me and my dogs.
Yes, 20%
I never expected a tip but sometimes people would or I would get cards from the pets at the holiday with money.
I was a dog walker a LONG time ago and never got tips but sometimes got holidays gifts.
Yes, I do if they do a good job and cared for my dogs wellbeing. I tip anything related to my dog much better than a tip for services for me. Usually 25 to 30% for me, especially if they have had to clean my dogs butt.

I found out my dog sitter charging me more offline vs through Rover. So, I consider myself tipping them over 20% already.

I don’t think you need to tip. You can find other ways to show appreciation down the road. Buy them a meal or a coffee, small gift for bday or holidays?
Assuming you’re hiring a perm dog walker to walk your dog on a weekly basis then it be the rate they give you (usually weekly/monthly has a discount). And because you now have a relationship, give them a good tip or gift during the holidays.
Tip if this is a once in a while relationship.
I did the same re: Rover.com. No, I don't tip, but I have left thank you notes, dare I say "treats," and if they help me out in an emergency or watch Jillian for a long time, I leave a thank you gift. They are already making more if you are paying them directly.
