Coach
I am in a casual work culture but I’ve been trying to make an effort with dressing up. It’s very easy especially when working from home to get too casual, and I think there’s something to the “look good, feel good” mentality. The quality of fabrics now in button downs and polos are comfortable enough to wear but they make you just look a bit more polished (especially if you add simple earrings / necklace).
My go to brands:
$: Loft, J Crew, Abercrombie
$$-$$$: Sezane, Rag & Bone, Madewell
Lululemon, Alo, Rhone, Viouri sometimes have button downs too that are so comfy but stylish.
Oooh you set me on a shopping spree with the second row - never heard of those brands!
I have this situation a bit (most people I work with dress super casual/t-shirts) and I tend to wear simple tops that still have a casual vibe but aren’t quite t-shirts. If I do a t-shirt I go for an upscale fitted one in a thicker fabric. Also accessories (earrings/necklace) and a pop of color on lips or glasses can glam up a tshirt bit
Lots of good stuff at tj maxx, Marshall’s, Ross that are business casual
I wear a lot of collared golf shirts. It’s cool if I need to step outside, and easily layered with a sweater or company tagged jacket.
Solid colour t-shirt in a nice fabric, add a necklace. Or throw earrings on, and you'll immediately look dressed up! If you want to go beyond t-shirts, anything with a stand collar, mock neck, or henley collar can up your dressiness factor too. I have some t-shirts that are made out of silk or linen that I use for this purpose as well.
The t-shirt can be fine, just go with different necklines. Have some variety, v-necks, boat necks, anything you come across that is a little more unusual. Stick with dark colors, they always look more polished on camera.
Old Navy is my go-to. A lot of their stuff looks nice on camera and is extremely comfortable to wear. I love their Luxe shirts the most. Sizes tend to run big.
