For professionals working in Regulatory Affairs:

What would you recommend to someone currently in QA who wants to transition into RA but lacks direct experience? Are certification or short courses actually valued during hiring?

What area are you coming from? QA in regulatory is very different than QA in manufacturing. The similarities through are needing to know and understand the entire end-to-end process, look at situations through risk based analysis, and also appreciate the dependencies on things outside of the companies control (e.g. how long it takes to hear back from a HA). It may be worthwhile to take a course of some training to understand the big picture of whatever area of regulatory you’re looking to get into so you can apply your skills and approach appropriately. This is likely what they’ll be looking for in interviews. Maybe not that you’ve taken the class but that you understand how things need to be approached in the regulatory space, what really does raise to the level of critical risk vs what does not, etc.

I just find some firms are unwilling to entertain the idea that anyone but a lawyer has anything relevant to contribute in this space…

Please help! I’m a CRC who manages Investigator- led clinical research projects and I want to transition to a PM role in industry (I would slightly prefer not a PM role in clinical trials since I don’t have clinical trial experience.) I’ve applied to PM roles at many biotech companies (e.g. Charles River, ICON, Paraxel) but only got 1 interview which didn’t work out. Which companies should I look to for an entry level PM role? Any good startups to consider? Anyone have any insight or advice?

I’ll be done with my masters in Medical Biotechnology in December and have done my bachelors in pharmaceutical sciences.

What kind of roles do you guys recommend for a pharmacist trying to pivot into pharma? Where can you go to see all the different types of roles available? Anyone know any biotechs/Pharma (ideally oncology-focused) that are looking for a VP (or even SD for the right TC) of BD/CorpDev and allowing for remote/travel models (if not Boston-based) or at least a Boston-based hybrid model? I accepted a $115K base salary, 13% bonus, 10k sign on bonus (scientist supervisor) job and two weeks later, got a $135K base, 17% bonus, and 15K sign on bonus (Senior scientist role) offer from another company. Should I accept the new offer ? How do I tell the previous company about this? Also, I’ve already negotiated with the first company and the $115K base is the negotiated salary. I really do not prefer one company over the other. They’re both great! I’m very confused here. TIA🙏

Just got offered a job at a small biotech in London (UK). ~£45k plus bonus but only 1YR FTC and no equity.

Pretty sure it's a discovery role too.

I just finished my PhD at a very good uni with 3 years technician experience before that. BSc and MSc also at very good unis with good grades.

I think this offer is well below par, but curious to hear what you guys think/if you have any comparisons?

Thanks in advance :)
