Got my contract and just started background checks. When should i resign? I have a 1 month notice period and they suggested a start date of 5 Jan, not too sure how to suggest later especially given I havent resigned yet

If you were in a private company assistant controller position being offered $10k more to switch over to public and much better PTO days and fully remote as opposed to an in office position that I’m currently at in a Real estate growing company. My interview got over on June 29th right after the interview the recruiter called me and told I’m selected and they will be sending the offer letter. He mentioned there will be a delay in releasing the offer letter since merging is happening right now. few days back I sent a mail to HR.. but no reply. and after that I received a mail stating they are no longer considering me for this position. Need career advice. Trying to break into a finance role, preferably an Analsyt role but I have no transferable experience. I worked as a mortgage loan officer (which is sales) for 2 years after college, but since mortgage is such a niche industry, no hard skills transfer and have no relevant undergrad internships unfortunately. Is IB worth the sacrifice of WLB? Obvious pay is really good but are the prestige and pay worth it if you’re planning on only doing it for a couple years?

Currently working at an IRA with great WLB. Honestly I love my job, the firm, and people I work with.

Also doing MBA part time at a T15 school. Thinking about switching to IB but I’ve done my research and I think I would burn out of IB in two years but I might be ok with that for the opportunities after.
