This question makes me think of that Michael Scott line. "I'm not superstitious. But I am a little stitious." Which is actually pretty accurate for me. I know it's illogical to put any stock into good omens/bad omens, lucky numbers, whatever, but I still find myself doing it.
Well, I don't agree with you on the Friday the 13th thing. I'm having a very nice Valentine's Day dinner tonight with my sweetheart and I'm not at all worried about bad luck :)
That said, I know how intense it is to be looking for work hours and hours a day, and how discouraging it can be. So taking a break for any reason sounds like a Mental Health Day. Maybe you can do something to REALLY take a break, like go on a nice drive, maybe with a friend or a significant other; try a new restaurant; go see a movie; start a book you've been thinking about reading. Just shift your energy for a day and maybe wake up energized tomorrow!!
I have a final interview today. Haven’t given the date a second thought.
It hadn’t crossed my mind until someone mentioned it earlier today. If you’re expecting something bad, you’ll probably find it. Does anyone see a shift in the office? Or is it just because you’re looking for one? I could see a bit of both.
I like to think Friday the 13th is one of my luckiest days and that just changed the way I viewed it :) I am not a superstitious person now, but I was at one point; I grew up in a culture that is too, so reframing my mind about it took a while but it was positive I would say!

I do not think that is crazy. Taking a pause can be grounding. Job searching is emotionally heavy and rest is part of strategy. One skipped day will not change your outcome.

I didn’t think about it either until someone mentioned it to me, and I’d rather not think about it haha, nothing worse than jinxing yourself!
